Itinerary
Day 1
Entebbe / KampalaOn arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Entebbe for overnight.
Kampala city tour
Our safari guide will pick you from your hotel for a tour of the major cultural sites in and around Kampala. These include Kabaka’s lake and Palace, Nakasero Green Market, Uganda Museum, Cultural Market, Bahai temple, and other interesting sites.
Day 2
Murchison falls on the river NileEarly morning leave Kampala driving northwest to Murchison Falls National Park. Stop over at Ziwa Ugandan Rhino sanctuary for a nature walk to see the rare rhinos in the wild. Lunch in Masindi. Proceed to the Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, with 3.840 Kms, named after the falls on the Victoria Nile. Brief stopover at the “Top of the Falls” to enjoy the marvelous falls from above.
Day 3
The boat cruise on the river NileYour day starts with a cup of coffee followed by a morning game drive and expects to see elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, if you are lucky the leopards, plus a variety of bird species return to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch at the lodge, proceed for a boat cruise along the Nile to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. This is an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles along the riverbanks and many water birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4
On the shadow of the Mountains of the MoonTransfer from Murchison Falls heading Southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. Drive through Hoima and reach Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon,” the Rwenzori, Lunch in fort portal town. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon Hotel. This day’s journey is long, as it takes an average of 8 hours.
Day 5
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Pearl of UgandaTake a early breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park, Game drive as you enter the park checking in by lunch time, and relax at 3pm go for the exciting boat cruise along Kazinga channel. Evening Game drive.
Day 6
Game drive and chimpanzees of Kyambura GorgeEarly morning, drive to Kyambura gorge for a forest walk to look for the habituated chimpanzees and other primates. This gorge is 16 km long on the Rift Valley and 100 meter deep. The rangers will provide you with a walking stick. After primate walk, drive to Savannah hotel located in the heart of Ishasha for lunch, Afternoon game drive in search for the tree climbing lions of Ishasha Sector. Dinner and overnight at Savannah Lodge.
Day 7
Transfer to Rwanda RuhengeriTransfer to Rwanda, have lunch en-route and continue to Rwanda in Ruhengeri .Dinner and over night.
Day 8
Mountain Gorilla tracking and Transfer to GisenyiEarly morning you enter the gorilla sanctuary of Volcanoes National Park, the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding the five Virunga Volcanoes. It was here where biologist Dian Fossey worked until her death in 1985. The trekking is a demanding but rewarding experience. Ensure you bring with you enough water and the packed lunch. The time spent in the forest depends on the movements of the primates in their natural environment. After the activity you transfer back to Uganda.
Day 9
DepartureReserved for departure flights from Entebbe International Airport.
